St. John's Edge News Release
St. John's, NL- Maverick Rowan, a 6'7 210lb Guard from Fort Lauderdale, Florida has signed a 2019-2020 NBLC Player Contract with the St. John's Edge. Rowan will begin his third professional season after spending the last two seasons in the NBA G-League.
Rowan was the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA G-League draft by the Lakeland Magic, the affiliate of the Orlando Magic. He spent the entire 2017-2018 season with Lakeland and last season spent time with the Maine Red Claws, Austin Spurs and Westchester Knicks. In 52 career games in the G-League, Rowan averaged 4.9ppg and 1.7rpg. Rowan spent two years at NC State after being one of the most highly sought after recruits in the country coming out of high school. In his two years at NC State, Rowan averaged 12.5ppg, 3.3rpg while shooting 38.7% from the field and 34.5% from 3.
Head Coach Steve Marcus on the signing on Maverick Rowan: "I have known Mav since our time at NC State. With his size at 6'7 and his ability to shoot the ball, he has a chance to be a very special player for us. He fits everything we are building here in St. John's both on and off the court."
