
Edge Return Home for Opening Weekend

St. John's Edge News Release
St. John's, NL - St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC), will tip-off their home opening game on Friday, November 23rd at 7:00 PM at Mile One Centre, with gates opening at 5:30pm for a performance by The Navigators to kick off the 2018-19 season. The Edge will then suit up for a matinee on Sunday, November 25th at 3:30pm with a special Family-Themed game day.
After reaching the Divisional Final in their inaugural season, The St. John's Edge will look to improve on their 25-15 record from last season (14-6 at Home). The team's roster, led by new Head Coach Doug Plumb and reigning MVP of the NBL Canada, Carl English, includes returnee's: Dez Lee and Jarryn Skeete, with newcomers: Junior Cadougan, Kevin Zabo, Maurice Jones Sr., Jared Nickens and Guillaume Boucard added to the mix. The team has also added some veteran presence with players such as Todd Brown Jr., Diego Kapelan, Keith Wright Jr. and Maverick Morgan. The organization has worked diligently in the off-season to build on their exceptional fan experience and to again provide one of the best atmospheres in the NBL Canada. Refurbished suites, additional courtside seating, and a newly remodeled dressing room are just some of the added features this season.
The team will also be sporting a new look, with a brand-new Nike jersey design for both at home and on the road. These will be available for purchase starting on Opening Weekend, along with several new pieces of EDGE Gear to meet the needs of Edge fans both young and old.
