
Edge Release 2018-19 Training Camp Roster

St. John's Edge News Release
St. John's, NL - The St. John's Edge have announced their 2018-19 training camp roster. The current roster stands at 15 players and includes the recent addition of Jared Nickens who signed with the team this morning. Along with training camp invitees Congo native Ted Kapita (North Carolina State University) and Clinton, North Carolina native J.T. Miller.
2018-19 training camp will mark the return of reigning NBL Canada MVP Carl English, Jarryn Skeete, and Desmond Lee. All three were key pieces in the St. John's Edge playoff run last season.
Notable additions to the club this season come in the form of former NBL Canada League MVP Gabe Freeman (2011-12 London Lightning), former NBL Canada Rookie of the Year Maurice Jones (2016-17 Windsor Express), and former NBL Canada Champion Junior Cadougan (London Lightning 2016-17).
The St. John's Edge also have a strong influx of experienced professional players with Todd Brown (7 years in European Professional Basketball) and Guillaume Boucard (2017-18 Niagara River Lions).
The rookie class for the Edge is one that brings big game experience and pedigree within the ranks of NCAA Division 1 Basketball. The group of Nick Banyard (University of Central Florida), Bryce Washington (University of Louisiana Lafayette), and Kevin Zabo (Kent State University) are all expected to make an impact in their first professional season.
Finally, the St. John's Edge will also be adding some size to the roster with the off-season addition of Satnam Singh. The 7'2" IMG Academy product is the only Indian born player to be drafted to the NBA when the Dallas Mavericks selected him in the 2015 NBA Draft.
The St. John's Edge begin their training camp on Oct. 29th in St. John's with players arriving throughout, then travelling to Grand-Falls Windsor for the bulk of camp beginning on Nov. 3rd and concluding on Nov. 9th.
