
Edge Look for Revenge, Host Bombers Saturday

The Bloomington Edge will try to build on last week's win when they face the second place team in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League this Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The Edge (3-5) held off the Kansas Koyotes 43-42 last Saturday night in Bloomington. LaVaughn Macon ran back four kickoffs for 99 yards and one touchdown to earn this week's CPIFL Special Teams Player of the Week.
This week's visitor, the Salina Bombers (5-2) eked out a 13-11 home win over the Wichita Wild, who are tied with the Sioux City Bandits for the top spot in the CPIFL race with identical 6-2 records. The Bombers defeated the Edge 56-20 on March 7 in Salina in the second game of the season.
The Edge continue to lead the league in total offense with 257.4 yards per game but are fifth in scoring with 45.9 points per contest, slightly behind the Bombers who are fourth with 46.7 points per game. The Bombers are sixth in total offense with an average of 223.9 yards.
Edge quarterback Charles Dowdell remains on top of the CPIFL with 1514 passing yards, good for 214 yards per game. Andre Raymond reached the end zone five times last week to increase his league-leading touchdown total to 22. Salina teammates Ricky Roberts and Keithen Valentine are tied for seventh with 12 touchdowns each.
Kids 12 and under can eat free this Saturday until the end of the first quarter. Saturday's kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with the game broadcast on WJBC.com and America One Sports subscription video.
