St. John's Edge News Release

St. John's, NL - The St. John's Edge announced this afternoon that training camp for the 2018-19 season will be held in the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor from November 3rd until the 9th.

"This is a great opportunity to assist in the growth of basketball in the province" said Carl English. The chance to expose the central region to Edge basketball and to give back to their community in the process was a no-brainer when making the decision to bring training camp to the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor.

The Edge are excited to partner with the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor to share the experience of Edge basketball to the central region of the province. Team members and staff will be residing at the Riverfront Chalets during their 7-day stay in the heart of central Newfoundland and Labrador.

During this week, the camp itself will be held at Exploits Valley High with each day being comprised of two-2-hour on-court sessions (one morning and one evening). The players will have access to the YMCA of Exploits Valley for all off-court weight training and conditioning. A select few of the on-court sessions will be open to the public during training camp as well.

Over the course of the 7-day training camp, the St. John's Edge and staff will have three community appearances in the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor. They will be in the form of school visits and basketball camps. The team will also be hosting a meet and greet with fans on Wednesday, November 7th, which will be hosted at the Grand-Falls Golf Club.

Training camp will then conclude with an intra-squad game on Thursday November 8th, tickets will be made available for this game through the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor. The intra-squad game will be followed by an autograph session for all fans in attendance

The St. John's Edge will also be providing the Town of Grand-Falls Windsor with autographed items that will be used to raise money for local charities. The Town of Grand-Falls Windsor will also be provided with 1,000 tickets to one regular season Edge game during the 2018-19 Campaign.

Edge Season Tickets are now available and can be purchased online at www.mileonecentre.com, in person at the box office or by phone at 576-7657.
