Philadelphia, PA, November 27, 2006 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that midfielder Edgar Bartolomeu was named the League's Offensive Player-of-the-Week for the seven-day period ending November 26. The honor is the first such accolade for the veteran in his six-year career and the second for the KiXX this season; teammate Pat Morris was named the League's Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the seven-day period ending November 12.

Bartolomeu notched a pair of two-point goals, including the game winner, in the team's 14-10 victory versus the California Cougars at the Stockton Arena on November 26. The native of Angola, Africa first connected on a header from teammate John Barry Nusum at 5:38 of the second quarter, before sealing the club's win with a two-point score at 6:15 of the final frame. The tallies marked his first and second goals of the season.

The 30-year-old midfielder began his professional indoor career with the now-defunct Buffalo Blizzard of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) in 2000. He was acquired by Philadelphia in the 2001 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Dispersal Draft and spent the next four seasons in a KiXX uniform. Bartolomeu, a key component in the club's 2001-02 League Championship, has amassed 50 points and 102 blocks in 93 appearances in his five-year career. He also competed with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars (now known as Red Bull New York) in 2003 and the Toronto Lynx of the outdoor A-League in 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2006.

Bartolomeu and the rest of the KiXX will square-off versus the California Cougars for the second time in as many weeks and third time overall this season on Saturday, December 2. The first 2,500 fans to enter the gates will receive a complimentary John Barry Nusum T-Shirt courtesy of JAKO USA. Game-time at the Wachovia Spectrum is slated for 7:05 pm ET with the doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.

Season tickets, 6-PaXX mini-plans, Family 4-PaXX and birthday packages are on sale now by calling the KiXX Ticket Office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499).
