American Conference Semifinals (Best-of-Five)

No. 3 Charlotte Checkers (39-26-7) at No. 2 Gwinnett Gladiators (40-24-8) 4:05 p.m. ET
* Gwinnett won the last four games against the Checkers and was 4-0-1 at home and 5-2-1 overall in 2004-05.
* Lee Falardeau led Charlotte with five assists and seven points in six games against Gwinnett.
* Kris Goodjohn led Gwinnett with eight assists and nine points in eight games against the Checkers.
* Mike Vigilante led Gwinnett with three game-winning goals and seven goals against Charlotte.
* Alex Westlund was 2-1-1 with 3.18 goals against and .918 save percentage against Gladiators.
* Adam Berkhoel was 2-2 with 2.51 goals against and Sean Fields was 3-0 with 2.92 goals against Charlotte.
* Gladiators finished third in the South Division and fourth in the American Conference.
* Checkers finished third in the East Division and seventh in the American Conference.
* Gladiators advanced to conference finals in 2004 before losing to eventual champion Idaho.
* Checkers in second round for first time since 1998 and only third time in 12 seasons.
* Charlotte won the 1996 Riley Cup, awarded to the ECHL postseason champion from 1989-96.
