
ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced that Newfoundland's James Melindy has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #51, Newfoundland at Reading, on Oct. 24.
Melindy is fined and suspended as a result of his game misconduct under Rules #70.3/70.10 at 10:09 of the second period.
Melindy will miss Newfoundland's games at Brampton (Oct. 27 and Oct. 28), at Adirondack (Oct. 30), at Manchester (Nov. 2) and at Worcester (Nov. 3).
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
