EastLink TV to Broadcast Rainmen Playoff Games in London
March 17, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Halifax Rainmen News Release
(Halifax, NS) The Halifax Rainmen are pleased to announce that EastLink TV will live broadcast the first two games of the NBL Canada championship playoff series taking place between the Rainmen and the London Lightning this Sunday, March 18 (5 p.m. AST) and Monday, March 19 (8 p.m. AST).
The best-of-five series marks the first time the Rainmen have had the opportunity to fight for a championship title.
"We have shown we are a competitive team with tremendous heart that fights every minute, every game, everywhere we play," said Rainmen head coach Josep "Pep" Claros. "It is very difficult to reach the finals. We are here and we want the championship. This is my 12th final in 16 years, and even though the Lightning are ranked number one, I believe we can beat them.
One thing is clear; we need 10,000 fans in the Metro Centre on Wednesday night to make as much noise as possible to energize our players as we compete to bring the province it's first-ever professional basketball championship."
The first-place Lightning hold home-court advantage with the first two games (March 18 and 19) taking place at the John Labatt Centre, with games three and four (if necessary) taking place at the Halifax Metro Centre on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m. If the series is pushed to five games, the final game will take place in London, ON on Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m. AST.
Tickets for Wednesday's playoff game at the Metro Centre go on sale Monday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at Ticket Atlantic locations and the Metro Centre box office.
