East and West Division Games Postponed
October 14, 2020 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
LONGUEUIL, QC - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today that both East and West Division teams will postpone their games until October 28th.
The league's decision was made by the Assembly of Members in a meeting held earlier today. With half of the Quebec-based teams located in red zones, it became almost impossible to operate in these circumstances. Nevertheless, QMJHL student-athletes will continue to practice in their facilities while pursuing their studies.
The QMJHL is working closely with Public Health Officials and is committed to following their guidelines. The League's cooperation is essential for the pursuit of its activities.
The situation will be reassessed in two weeks. Meanwhile, the Maritimes-based teams will continue playing, except for the Moncton Wildcats (weekend games are postponed until further notice). Local authorities designated the Moncton area as an orange zone over the weekend and put all sporting activities on hold.
