Rockford, Illinois - February 12, 2008 - One lucky fan at the last Rockford Fury home game was the proud winner of an early Valentine's Day present. Busch Jewelers, one of the proud sponsors of the Rockford Fury, wanted to make someone's Valentine's Day extra-special and offered a blue Caribbean Diamond, valued at $1500.00, to the fan who could score the most points during a half-time basketball frenzy.
Six contestants were chosen at random from the crowd, and the person who scored the most points by shooting free-throws and lay-ups during a 30 second period was the big winner.
In the end, Justin Saichek of Rockford was the one person standing on the court holding the Busch Jewelers certificate for a $1500.00 diamond! You could say that Justin "iced" his competition!
