
Earl Cureton introduced as Crush head coach

The Orange County Crush basketball organization held its first press conference late Thursday afternoon at the Orange County Fairgrounds. The organization was happy to announce Earl Cureton as their new head coach. Last year, Earl Cureton coached the ABA champions; the Long Beach Jam. Earl Cureton brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to the table, due to his many years as player in the NBA. Coach Cureton was also a member of two NBA championship teams, the Philadelphia 76ers (1982-83) and the Houston Rockets, (1993-94).
Corey Gaines was named the new assistant coach for the Orange County Crush. Assistant Coach Gaines brings NBA experience to the table. The Seattle Super Sonics first drafted Gaines in 1988. He spent time the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks.
Former Laker Guard, Norm Nixon, will act in the capacity of Special Operations Assistant. Crush team tryouts will be conducted at the American Sports Center in the city of Anaheim, on September 14th and 15th, from 8:00 a.m. â 4:00 p.m.
