Eagles Travel to Pittsburgh and Dayton

Charlotte N.C. - The Charlotte Eagles hit the road to Pittsburgh and Dayton to face off against the Riverhounds and Dutch Lions following a loss at home Monday night to the Sacramento Republic FC. The Eagles currently sit at 10th place in USL PRO standings the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs. The Eagles look to gain some much-needed points on the road this week.
In the Eagles last game they faced off against the Sacramento Republic FC for the first time in USL PRO history and fell 1-0 to the Sacramento Republic FC after Sacramento got an early goal in the 10thminute from forward Thomas Stewart.
The Eagles first stop will be in Pennsylvania on Thursday July 17th where they will face off against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. In the Riverhounds last game they faced off against the OKC Energy FC club on the road where they fell 2-0. The Riverhounds currently sit at the bottom of the standings in USL PRO with a record of 3-10-5. This is the first of two meetings between the two clubs in the 2014 season, the Eagles will host Pittsburgh at home later in the season.
The Eagles will then travel to Ohio on Saturday the 19th to face off against the Dayton Dutch Lions. In the Lions last game they hosted the Harrisburg City Islanders and took a 3-1 loss. Dayton's single goal came from Brock Granger who currently has two goals this season, his other coming from the Lions previous meeting with the Eagles in the first of three regular season matches between the two clubs. The Eagles upcoming road game in Dayton will be the last regular season meeting between the two teams.
