
Eagles Hit the Road for Another Back to Back Weekend

Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte Eagles are getting set for their second back to back weekend in a row with games at Dayton on Friday, June 28th and Chicago on Saturday, June 29th. Be sure to bookmark USLNation.com to catch the Eagles and Dutch Lions on Friday at 7 pm.
Charlotte is coming off a home victory over VSI Tampa Bay FC last Friday and a road draw against the Wilmington Hammerheads Saturday the 22nd. Sergio Villasenor netted the game winner for the Eagles in the 74th minute against visiting Tampa Bay. Goalkeeper Eric Reed recorded his league leading sixth shutout of the season in Saturday's scoreless draw in Wilmington.
Dayton is coming into this weekend's matchup after earning four points on a west coast swing last Friday and Sunday. The Dutch Lions drew 0-0 against Phoenix and earned a 1-0 victory against the LA Blues thanks to a Tjeerd Westdijk 90th minute goal.
The Dutch Lions leading scorer on the season is former Eagle, Gibson Bardsley. His 5 goals are good for 8th place in the league standings. Bardsley is joined on the team by another former Charlotte player, Joel DeLass. DeLass is second on the team in scoring with nine points, four goals and one assist. Dayton's goalkeeper Matthew Williams is tied for 2nd in the league with six wins on the season.
The Eagles will head to Chicago on Saturday to play a return match against the Chicago Fire Reserves. Earlier in June, Charlotte earned a 2-1 comeback victory over the Fire Reserves. Christian Ramirez and Ben Newnam both scored second half goals to propel the Eagles ahead of the Fire.
Christian Ramirez's goal against the Fire brought his season total to four. He is currently sitting in front of six teammates who have all scored two goals so far. Defender Shaun Francis and midfielder Mitchily Wual are tied for the team lead in the assist department with two apiece.
Chicago hasn't played since the 2-1 road defeat against the Eagles earlier in June and will look to even the season series when the match kicks off at 8:30 est at Toyota Park in Chicago.
