State College Spikes News Release
*STATE COLLEGE *- Fans of the State College Spikes will be able to savor a combination of sensational new food items and signature culinary creations at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park during the 2010 season. Recognized brands such as the Penn State Creamery, Pizza Hut, and Philly Pretzel Factory will join several fresh food and drink choices on the menu.
The array of delicious food choices will begin as soon as fans enter through the gates, with the Penn State Creamery stand located on the concourse behind home plate. Ice cream lovers can enjoy several different flavors, including some local favorites. In addition, fans can purchase fresh-squeezed lemonade and limeade, as well as fresh fruit.
Once inside the stadium, the food choices only expand, with slices from Pizza Hut available down in "The Grandstand" on the third-base side. Jumbo pretzels from the Philly Pretzel Factory also lead an expanded snack menu at the ballpark, which will include corn dogs, fried dough, deep-fried smores, and a funnel cake sundae alongside ballpark staples like popcorn, peanuts and Cracker Jack.
The new items join an already outstanding variety of fresh ballpark fare, including fresh-cut French fries, sweet potato fries, corn on the cob, and many other delicious dishes. In addition, fans can also take advantage of the chef's specials, which will be served out of the Right Field Grill. These ingenious items will rotate during the year, with boneless barbecued pork chops and steak tips on deck for Opening Week and entrees such as beef brisket sandwiches, grilled wings, gyros and buffalo burgers slated for later in the year.
Fans over 21 can also enjoy a wide selection of beverages, highlighted by specialty brews from Otto's Pub and Mike's Hard Margaritas, as well as several beer varieties.
To add even more value to the eating experience at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, fans can bring their families, co-workers or clients out to enjoy the All-You-Can-Eat Seats in the beautiful and spacious Left Field Picnic Pavilion every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays, the same great value is available in Section 305, with food served out of the Right Field Grill. With these seats, fans can dig into a non-stop menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, cookies, sodas and chef's specials. Individual All-You-Can-Eat Seats are also available starting at $20 apiece, with group rates starting at $19 per person.
"While our fans have always been able to enjoy the value that comes with ballpark originals we're pleased to be able to add even more on top of it this year," said Spikes General Manager *Jason Dambach*. "In partnering with nationwide favorites like Pizza Hut and the Philly Pretzel Factory, as well as legendary local brands like the Creamery and Otto's Pub, our fans will always find something they can sink their teeth into here at the ballpark."
The Spikes fifth season of providing Central Pennsylvania's Best Family Value will return Saturday, June 19 at 7:05 p.m. against the rival Williamsport Crosscutters.
