
E. J. Hilliard Named 2022 Offensive Player of the Year

While his stats are impressive, one really needs to watch him play to appreciate what he means to a game. E. J. Hilliard has been named the 2022 IFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Hilliard was also named Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 as the quarterback of Quad City. After a stint in Tucson and a cancelled season due to Covid, He was back in Quad City, and he was obviously ready. While he didn't rejoin the Steamwheelers until week six of the 2022 season, the impact was immediate and impressive. Through twelve games he completed 59.1 percent of his passes for a total of 1687 yards and 31 touchdowns garnering a quarterback rating of 157.4.
With Hilliard, his arm is only half of the story. He also rushed 126 times for 758 yards and 28 touchdowns (second in the league). His average gain of six yards per rush was also second in the league. Again, all of this in just 12 games.
