Dynamite Win Secures Second Place
December 29, 2008 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Denver Dynamite News Release
The Denver Dynamite secured second place in the Western Division of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro) with an 8-7 win over the Colorado Lightning this Sunday at the Budweiser Events Center.
Playing without regulars Garth Archibald and Peter Randall, the Dynamite was stretched to the max by its regional rivals. The fast and furious match went into overtime when, with just eight seconds left in the game, a goal by Brian Contreras tied the game. The Dynamite won the game when player/coach Chris Handsor scored at 1:23 in sudden death, avenging the 9-8 loss the Dynamite suffered to the Lightning in the teams' first meeting earlier this season.
The Dynamite, now 4-4 in its inaugural season, next plays the St. Louis Illusion at 9 pm this Saturday at 9 pm at the Parker Regional Events Center (18700 E Plaza Drive, Parker). It follows a 7 pm Denver Dragons team (the Denver Dragons competes in the semi-pro Premier Arena Soccer League as a "Reserve" team for the Dynamite).
