Dynamite Take Lessons from Stockton Loss

November 24, 2008 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Denver Dynamite News Release

After exploding onto the field with two goals in the first six minutes, the Denver Dynamite lost Saturday night's game in California against the Stockton Cougars. (Final 15-5) The loss brings the Dynamite's inaugural season record to 2-3.

The Stockton Cougars were shell-schocked by the visiting Denver Dynamite for the first 42 seconds of last Saturday night's game; jumping out to a 2-0 lead in a Professional Arena Soccer League match that had first place in the West on the line.

But as quickly as the Dynamite offensive burst came; the momentum soon shifted back to the Cougars for good as they fell 5-15 before a crowd of 2433 that contained Dynamite fans who made the trip.

25-year-old Dynamite player and owner Pete Randall, who formed the PASL-Pro league Dynamite team in the past months, said he's certainly not pleased with the loss. However, he's looking at the bright side of the team's experience in Stockton, saying that the Cougars' organization provides an example of what he plans for Denver's future.

"The Cougars are an example in a lot of ways of what we want to become in the near future," Randall said. "The lessons they pass down to us, we've got to learn and gain from them."

And while Randall is disappointed with the goal deficit racked up by the Cougars (who won by the same amount of goals against the Wanatchee Fire last week), he's more focused on the team's future, which league players and officials agree is promising.

"It's a building process," Randall said. "It's not about where we're at right now, it's about where we're going and where we'll get."

The Dynamite next take on Washington's Wenatchee Fire on Nov. 29th at the Denver Sports Center, 5555 W. Evans Ave. Single game tickets start at $10 and are available at www.DenverDynamiteSoccer.com.
