Denver Dynamite News Release
(Denver, CO) - The Denver Dynamite formally announced two additions to the coaching staff today. Ryan Creager, who will serve as player-assistant coach, and Chuck Estrada who will pull double duty as Dynamite assistant and head coach of the Dynamite's official development team, the Southern Colorado Stars (SoCo Stars).
Chuck is an ex-goalkeeper who brings a wealth of experience to the organization. His accolades include playing for both the United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues (USISL) Premier Development Soccer League's Pikes Peak Stampede and the Southwest Indoor Soccer League (SWISL)'s Colorado Springs Rattlers from 1995-1996. In 1999 he was drafted by the Utah Freezz of the World Indoor Soccer League (WISL), where after being traded to Houston, a discovered heart condition kept him from making his professional debut.
From 1996 to 1998, Chuck served as the goalkeeper coach for Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. In addition, in 1996 he joined the ranks of the Colorado Springs X-men, the winningest amateur indoor soccer team in the state of Colorado, boasting an impressive 264-1-3 record and making 2 National Semifinal appearances with an 8-2-0 record at nationals over their 4 year mark in history.
Per Estrada, "I have been around a lot of premier and college teams and I can see the difference in the level of play that these players hold over them on the field. It's because of this that I feel that we have a great chance of being a major contender and one the top teams right off the bat in our inaugural season."
"Chuck not only brings a wealth of experience, he brings a wealth of experience winning," Dynamite President Peter Randall said. "He knows what it takes to succeed no matter what the situation is, both on the field and off. When given the chance to add Chuck to our team, we jumped. Some opportunities are too good to pass up."
Another coach bringing a history of success to the organization, Ryan Creager won the 5A state high school title in Utah before becoming a national champion in the Men's Premier Soccer League (MPSL) with the Utah Salt Ratz. He currently coaches youth with the Pueblo Rangers club, and has proven his knowledge of the game with the SoCo Stars.
Creager, recently added to the USNAST player pool, currently holds a NSCAA National Diploma and a USSF D license. He is currently working toward his USSF Class C license, which he should receive in the near future.
"I am really excited to join the coaching staff. It's a great opportunity to be part of something special, both as a player and a coach," says Creager.
"Creager was the SoCo Stars MVP this last summer. His ability to lead and spur players on was unmistakable. He has the ability to make the players around him better, an attribute that is so valuable to a team," Randall commented.
"With Ryan and Chuck under Head Coach Mike Thompson, I feel we have an absolutely formidable coaching team that has proven itself in the youth, college and semi-pro ranks. I am very confident that they will prove themselves at the pro level as well."
The PASL-Pro is a new professional arena soccer league whose inaugural season kicks off October 25, 2008 when the Stockton Cougars host the Colorado Lightning. PASL-Pro consists of 8 US teams, the CMISL, and LMFR. The San Diego Sockers and a yet-to-be-named team in Utah have been added for the 2009/10 season. PASL Premier just completed its 10th season as the nation's top amateur arena soccer league. PASL-Pro and PASL-Premier are members of the Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido (FIFRA).
