Amarillo Venom News Release

Amarillo, TX 3/27/09 - As a result of blizzard conditions in the Texas Panhandle area, the Amarillo Dusters have pushed back their season opener, originally scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM.

The game will be re-scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, and will still be played at the Amarillo Civic Center. Amarillo will take on the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz in the af2 opener for both squads-the two teams played a preseason game at the Civic Center on March 16, with the Dusters prevailing 51-37.

"Our first concern is for the safety of our fans and our game staff," said Dusters Owner Randy Sanders. "We have monitored the situation carefully over the last 24 hours, talking with meteorologists in the area and the City of Amarillo, and feel that this is the best decision for all involved."

All tickets sold for the Friday game will be honored for the Sunday contest. In addition, the Dusters will be offering a special $10 "Blizzard Blowout" ticket for Sunday's game. For more information on the postponement and the "Blizzard Blowout" tickets, please contact the Dusters' front office at (806) 350-PASS (7277).

THE AMARILLO DUSTERS are a member of the arenafootball2 league. The team front office is now located at 901 S. Buchanan in downtown Amarillo. Season ticket packages for 2009 are available by calling (806) 350-PASS (7277), and start at just $96 a seat.
