Milwaukee Wave United News Release
(Milwaukee, WI) â Todd Dusosky's goal in the 34th minute off a throw-in from John Ball was the only goal of the night as Wave United defeated the Seattle Sounders 1-0 in an A-League contest played on the Pat Jones Field at Uihlein Soccer Park. Milwaukee improved its overall record to 7-5-0 (21 points) as it moved into a third place tie with the Cincinnati Riverhawks in the Central Division, while the Pacific Division leading Sounders fell to 8-3-4 (28 points). Wave United is now 4-3-0 at home, 3-0 on the Pat Jones Field where it has outscored its opponents 9-0.
Dusosky's goal, his team leading seventh of the season, was one of few quality chances produced by Milwaukee in a physical contest that had 25 fouls and seven yellow cards. Dusosky converted off the long throw-in from Ball, who picked up his league leading fifth assist when it bounced through the Seattle defense to Dusosky, who was unmarked from 10 yards out in the middle of the box. Goalkeeper Jim Larkin and the Wave United defense made the tally stand up for Milwaukee's sixth shutout of the season. Larkin, who now has five clean sheets in 2003, has 21 shutouts for his A-League career.
Wave United begins a road trip that includes four games, starting this Friday (7/11) in Seattle and ends in Cincinnati on July 19. The team's next home game will be on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:35 PM when it takes on the Milwaukee Bavarians in a 2003 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Match at Uihlein Soccer Park.
