Dunagan Star of the Week

Jamestown Ironmen forward, Tyler Dunagan has been recognized by the North American Hockey League as the Combat Hockey, North Division Star of the Week.

This is the second time this season that Dunagan, 19, has earned the honor as he played a big role in the team's home sweep of Fresno last weekend. The forward from Maple Grove, Minnesota, was a scoring machine as he lit up the Monsters for six points in the two games, which including five goals. He also recorded a +6 rating in the two games.

On Thursday, Dunagan (5'11/178) recorded a hat-trick in Jamestown's 7-4 win over Fresno. On Friday, it was another three point effort as he scored twice and added an assist in a 6-0 shutout win over the Monsters.

To date, the 2nd year NAHL veteran has 32 points, including 19 goals, in 48 games played. He is also competed in this week's NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.

"Tyler works very hard for the chances he gets and last weekend was a perfect example," said Ironmen head coach Dan Daikawa. "He did a great job of finishing his chances."

Dunagan and four of his teammates returned from the Top Prospects Tournament along with coach Daikawa late last night. The group will join the rest of the Ironmen (30-14-4) for practice on Thursday in preparation for a weekend home stand against the Wenatchee Wild (36-7-4), one of the top teams in the NAHL.

Jamestown hosts the Wild on Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 5pm. Fridays contest will be kicked off with some live music as Claire Stuczynski plays Sully's Irish Pub starting at 6pm. She will also be performing following the game as well (9:30-11pm). Friday also features $1 draft beers while Saturday's special is $1 hotdogs. Saturday is also Scout Night with special group rates for local scout troops.
