Dukes Guarantee Win

August 6, 2002 - Northern League (NL)
Duluth-Superior Dukes News Release

(Duluth, MN) Duluth-Superior Dukes general manager, Adam Ehlert, announced today that Thursday Night is officially Guaranteed Win Night for the Duluth-Superior Dukes. The Dukes' front office staff is so sure that the team will turn around their recent skid on Thursday night, that Ehlert is willing to wage his own money on it.

If, for some reason, the Dukes don't post a win (not likely to happen), any fan in attendance for Thursday's game can redeem their ticket stub for a free ticket to Friday's game.

"Manager Al Gallagher has expressed confidence that his team will return to the exciting brand of play they established in the first-half," said Ehlert. "I believe him, and will stand behind him, guaranteeing a win on Thursday-we owe it to our loyal fans."

Guaranteed Win Night is just the beginning for what is shaping to be one of the best promotional weekends for the Dukes this season. On top of Guaranteed Win Night, Thursday is also Pennant Night and Thirsty Thursday. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a Dukes pennant, courtesy of Cub Foods and Fox TV. For only $9, fans can have all the hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, beer and pop they want from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. The band, Both, will be entertaining fans in the Hardball Cafe from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm.

FREE STUFF NIGHT

Everyone in attendance on Friday night will receive something FREE from the Dukes. The team is being very secretive about the promotion, but expect seat cushions, t-shirts and other fun (free) stuff.

MASCOT MANIA

Check out many of the area's most lovable and recognizable mascots on Saturday evening. Several will be on-hand to play with the Dukes' very own Homer D. Hound, as well as sign autographs.

ALL IN THE FAMILY

Any fan sharing a last name with a Dukes' employee, player or mascot will receive a discounted ticket to Sunday's game. Check out the employees list outside Wade before the 2:05 pm game to see if you qualify.

All games begin at 7:05 pm, except Sunday, August 11, which begins at 2:05 pm.

Tickets are still available by calling the Dukes ticket office at 218.727.4525.

Wade Stadium is located at 132 35th Ave. W. in Duluth, MN.
