Central Illinois Drive News Release

Bloomington, IL, 3/2/12 - The Central Illinois Drive, presented by Sonic, have a chance to clinch the Central Conference when they play the Sauk Valley Predators in Bloomington on Sunday at 3:05 pm. The Drive are 14-0 on the season while the Predators are 7-5. The game is the fourth of five between the two and the Drive have won the first three.

With one more win the Drive can claim the Central Conference regular season title. They have a record of 14-0 while second place Sauk Valley is 7-5 and third place Chicago is 6-6. If the Drive were to only win one more game and Sauk Valley won the rest of their games, then they would both stand at 15-5. Because the Drive have already claimed the season series with Sauk Valley (3-0) the Drive hold the tie breaker. Chicago would only go to 14-6 if they won out. Since the Drive are playing Sauk Valley, they will have the chance to claim the conference title at home against the second place team. Their fate is in their hands.

Last Sunday Central Illinois beat the St. Louis Phoenix 93-80 on the road. Rodney Edgerson had 20 points and Jemal Farmer had 15.The team shot 50.7%.
