Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The warm Summer nights. The crack of the bat and over 5,000 fans cheering in unison. The smell of the freshly mowed field and hot dogs on the grill! There's nothing quite like being at Fluor Field, especially for the more than 200 enthusiastic individuals who make up the Greenville Drive's special team of seasonal employees. On Tuesday, February 17th, the Drive will give new personnel a chance to be part of the 2009 game day staff as they host their annual job fair at the BI-LO Center.
"We had a great 2008 season and much of our success was a direct result of the outstanding game day staff that worked at Fluor Field," commented Drive General Manager Mike deMaine. "We are excited to have many of these members of the Drive family coming back for the 2009 season, and are looking to find new service professionals to make our organization even better."
From 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the Drive will be interviewing candidates for a variety of game day staff positions, including ushers, ticket sellers, ticket takers, guest relations, merchandise store attendants, grounds crew, bat boys, promotions and entertainment team, food service attendants, Green Monster operators, and suite hosts and hostesses. Those wishing to attend should enter the BI-LO Center through the main entrance and parking lot on Church Street
Interested applicants must be 16 years of age or older, with the exception of bat boys who must be 14 years of age or older, and must be available to work nights, weekends and holiday games during the Drive's 2009 70-game home schedule. Applicants must bring their Social Security Card and one form of identification (current driver's license, birth certificate or passport) to complete their application and be considered for a position at the job fair.
The Greenville Drive does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age or disability. It is the Drive's intention that all qualified applicants be given equal opportunity and that selection decisions be based on job-related factors.
deMaine added, "Our game day employees really are the face of the Drive organization and our ballpark guests obviously appreciate the personal attention these professionals provide at Fluor Field day in and day out. We're committed to continuing and building on the tradition of outstanding service and friendly fan support that Drive fans experience. We're proud to have so many great workers from across the Upstate as part of the Drive Family."
Opening Day at Fluor Field is scheduled for Monday, April 13th. Season ticket plans, luxury accommodations, and group outings for the 2009 season are currently on sale and can be ordered by calling the Drive at (864) 240-4500.
