Tulsa Drillers News Release
Spring Training is right around the corner! The Drillers will be reporting to Arizona soon as they begin preparations for the 2016 season.
Going into their second year of being the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tulsa Drillers will have the privilege of training at one of the top Spring Training facilities in the nation. Like their parent club, the Dodgers, the Drillers will prepare for the upcoming season at the Camelback Ranch - Glendale complex.
The $121 million facility is located in Glendale, Arizona with the big-league stadium being the largest in the Cactus League with its ability to hold 13,000 fans.
The Drillers first official workouts for pitchers and catchers will take place the last week of February. The full squad will begin combined workouts under new manager Ryan Garko by the second week of March.
Tulsa is slated to play a total of 16 exhibition games in Arizona. The opener is scheduled for Monday, March 14 against a familiar foe in the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
The 2016 Spring Training schedule will feature the Drillers competing against a variety of teams. In addition to the RoughRiders, the Drillers will also face the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Akron RubberDucks, the Biloxi Shuckers, the Birmingham Barons, and the Jackson Generals along with the Midland Rockhounds, San Antonio Missions, and NW Arkansas Naturals.
All games will be played in the Phoenix area and are scheduled to begin at 1:00PM Arizona time.
