Dream edge Buzz in 'Dare to Dream' Tournament Championship
November 24, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release
Game one: San Francisco beat Las Vegas
Game two: Championship Game
Maywood Buzz 109 Alaska Dream 111
After being down by 16 points at the half, and six at the end of the third. Maywood would take a lead of eight points with 1:59 left in the game. That lead quickly evaporated, but with six seconds remaining, the Buzz stole an inbounds pass, missing a 3-D opportunity; and two put backs. Missing a chance to win, or tie, in regulation, and dropping a heartbreaker at the buzzer.
Great game and after blowing out the first two teams the Dream thought they were going for a third blowout, but the Buzz played hard and together, and almost pulled it off. The Buzz who finish their preseason 5-1 start the season next Friday.
The Buzz were lead by Rookie Guard Wesley Stokes 39pts and Isaac Burton's 23pts.
