Dragons mini-camp underway

February 10, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New York Dragons News Release

Dragons Mini-Camp is underway and 33 players reported to Practice at Mitchel Field Practice Facility Saturday Morning. The Veterans will join the rest of the 2007 training camp roster Monday morning when the first official full practice takes place.

Players reported to the Nassau Coliseum on Friday for physicals and meetings.

"It was more academic than anything," said head coach Weylan Harding. "We set the tone in what we expect as a coaching staff and what they should expect in regards to the Arena game."

Saturday marked a first for some athletes who are new to arena football.

"Today we wanted to see how well the guys absorbed what we talked about yesterday," said Harding. "Of course there are going to be some mistakes, but the effort was good, and I was fairly pleased with the practice. The goal is to see improvement every day."

Full practice with helmets and pads starts Monday morning from 10:00am-1:30pm at Mitchel Field practice facility in Uniondale.

"We look great coming off the bus," said Harding. "Now it's time to see what we can do on the field."
