Dragonettes Dance Team To Hold 2nd Tryout

Fort Myers, Florida, March 25, 2002—The Florida Sea Dragons professional basketball team will hold a 2nd tryout for their 2002 Dragonettes dance team on April 2nd at the Robin Dawn Academy for Performing Arts, located at 4417 SE 16th Place in Cape Coral. The session will start at 9:00 p.m.

The Dragonettes, a 20-member, high-energy dance team, perform at every Sea Dragons home game, as well as many community events throughout the year.

The registration fee for the tryouts is $25, and can be paid at the Robin Dawn Academy for Performing Arts before the start of the tryout. Pre-registration will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Robin Dawn Academy for Performing Arts.

Ms. Robin Dawn, Head Choreographer/Dance Team Coordinator, will conduct the tryouts. Dawn has been the Owner and Artistic Director of the Robin Dawn Academy of the Performing Arts in Cape Coral for the past 27 years. Former students of hers have gone on to perform for the Orlando Magic's dance team, on MTV, in Broadway shows, and on stage with Paula Abdul and Madonna, among others.

The Florida Sea Dragons are one of 10 teams in the United States Basketball League, which plays a 30-game schedule between late April and the end of June. Over the course of its 16-year history, the USBL has sent more than 135 players on to the NBA. Season tickets are now available for the upcoming 2002 season.
