Florida Sea Dragons News Release
Fort Myers, Florida, April 5, 2001—The Florida Sea Dragons will have the 8th overall pick in the upcoming 2002 United States Basketball League draft. Spectators Sports Pub in South Ft. Myers will be hosting the eight round draft which begins at 6:00pm April 9, 2002.
The Sea Dragons will be in contact with the USBL via conference on draft day. Division 1 college seniors are eligible for the draft. Underclassmen are not eligible. Each of the ten teams will have one pick in each of the 10 rounds. The new expansion St. Joseph Express has the first overall selection.
Steffon Bradford, who played for the Sea Dragons last season, was selected by Florida in the 2001 USBL draft. Spectators Sports Pub is located at 16440 S. Tamiami Trail, one mile North of Alico road in the Forrest Plaza.
The Florida Sea Dragons tip off its 30 game schedule at home on April 20th. Over the course of its 16-year history, the USBL has sent more than 130 players on to the NBA.
