In the eighth round of the 2016 NAHL Draft, the Magicians selected high scoring forward, Blake Ripley from Waunakee, Wisconsin.
A four-year varsity hockey player for Waunakee High School, Ripley has put up huge numbers as a standout forward for the team. During his junior season, he scored 35 goals and added 50 assists for a total of 85 points in only 24 games played. As a senior and captain of his team last year, he added 35 more goals to go along with 52 assists and a total of 87 points. All told, he had over 250 career points in Wisconsin High School hockey.
Speaking about drafting Ripley, Magicians Head Coach and General Manager Scott Meyer said, "Blake is a high scoring high school player from the state of Wisconsin. We are hoping to see his game translate to the junior level."
