Cleveland Gladiators News Release

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Gladiators WR Dominick Goodman has been voted the eighth best player of the 2012 season by AFL Field Pass subscribers. Goodman is the first Gladiators player to be honored, with the top five players being announced later today.

AFL Field Pass is the official fan club of the Arena Football League. Field Pass users were tasked with deciding upon the Top 25 Players of the 2012 regular season. During Week 19 of the AFL season, the League office collected ballots from members and tallied the votes.

Goodman, in his second season with the Gladiators, leads the AFL with 10.2 receptions per game. Through 16 games, he has set the franchise single-season reception record with 163 before entering Saturday's game versus Chicago. He leads the Gladiators with 32 receiving touchdowns, having caught at least one in his last 15 games.

"Goodie has been our most reliable player all season," Gladiators head coach Steve Thonn said. "He's a terrific player and really deserves this honor."

Goodman was named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in 17 catches for 189 yards and three touchdowns versus Jacksonville in Week 7.

The final Gladiators game of the season will be a night of fun, excitement and the rough-and-rumble of high-impact arena football action! Tickets for the game and Fan Appreciation Night are available at ClevelandGladiators.com, by phone at 216-420-2222, in person at the Quicken Loans Arena box office or at any one of Discount Drug Mart's 58 northern Ohio locations.
