Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce, Law Team up for Football Challenge

January 9, 2014 - Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) - Dodge City Law News Release

The Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce and the Dodge City Law announced a unique partnership on Thursday which will enable Chamber members and their employees to try-out for the area's new professional indoor-football team.

The "Reliving the Dream" contest will give team hopefuls the chance to re-experience their gridiron glory days. The winning participants will have the opportunity to play in the Law's preseason game against the Missouri Mustangs on February 22 at the United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.

Dan Schenkein, president of the Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce, believes that the opportunity to "relive the dream" will be fully embraced by Chamber members.

"Absolutely; I think there are a number of folks who would like to relive the dream. The few people that we shared the concept with prior to Thursday's press conference are really excited," Schenkein said. "We have some members that have already started exercise regiments."

Ricky Bertz, the owner of the Dodge City Law, said that the tryout will give members of the Chamber and their employees the chance to see what a day in the life of a professional football player is like.

"This is the unique twist to be able to promote the Law through the Chamber," Bertz said. "I expect the winner of the contest to get a good amount of playing time in the game."

In order to be eligible for the contest, participants must fill out a questionnaire by January 31, 2014 and must take part in a special one-hour combine which will be held on February 13, 2014 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.
