
Dietz and Edwards Honored

TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm quarterback Brett Dietz was named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week and wide receiver Hank Edwards earned the Spalding Highlight of the Week for their play in Week 14 of the Arena Football League, announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum.
"We have been moving the ball well offensively the past few weeks and did so this past week against a great opponent in Chicago," said Marcum. "Brett and Hank have played well; they are in tune and are making things happen."
Dietz, (6-foot-4, 220 lbs, Hanover) completed 24 of 31 passes for 359 yards and eight touchdowns as he set a single-game career high with a 154.4 QB rating in a 68-60 victory over Midwest Division leader Chicago Rush. His 77.4% completion rate was his second highest of the season. Dietz currently ranks second in the League with 84 touchdowns and third with 3,782 yards passing.
Edwards, (6-3, 185, Texas Southern) highlight occurred in the third quarter when he caught a short pass from Dietz, spun, ran over two defenders, knocking the helmet off of one, and dove into the endzone for a 15-yard touchdown. He finished the game with eight catches for 172 yards and four touchdowns. This is the third consecutive week the AFL has honored Edwards, in Week 12 he was name Playmaker of the Week and last week, Week 13, he earned AFL Offensive Player of the Week honors. Edwards currently ranks third in the AFL with 121.7 yards receiving per game, sixth in total yards receiving with 1,339 and tied for ninth with 29 touchdowns scored.
