Kearney, Nebraska-The Tri-City Diesel defeated the Omaha Beef in what was a thriller to the end. The Diesel won the game with a score of 41-30.
Alex Neist started things off with a bang by throwing a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jason Mitchell 58 seconds into the game. However the Beef answered right back with a 24-yard run by Kevin Brown. On the next possession Diesel kicker, Ezequiel Arevalo, nailed a 58 yard field goal to put the Diesel up 9-7 and that is all it took as the Diesel rolled from there, they never trailed the rest of the game.
The Diesel was led defensively by defensive end, Leif Murphy. Murphy had a game-high 14 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. The Diesel offense was lead by the ground attack of, Wes Cates, Cates tallied 74 yards on just 17 carries. With the win the Diesel remain at the top of the Pacific South Division and move to 3-1 on the season. Next week the Diesel is at home against the Colorado Venom with 7:35 pm kickoff.
