November 5, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New York City FC News Release
New York City FC is delighted to confirm that academy defender Diego Rossi has been selected to represent the Puerto Rican national team at U20 level.
The talented fullback is a product of the Club's academy and joined at U13 level, before progressing through the ranks.
As a result of some impressive showings Rossi was invited as part of the traveling roster for pre-season earlier this year, and performed well in training and friendly games against Chicago Fire and Orlando City SC.
The youngster will now celebrate his first call-up as he prepares for three games against Barbados, St. Vincent, Monserrat, and Bermuda.
"We're very proud to see Diego receive international recognition in the form of his first call-up to represent the Puerto Rico U20 national team," Matt Pilkington, Performance Phase Lead said. "We look forward to tracking his progress, and see this as another important step in his development as a player."
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Diego on his selection and wish him luck during the upcoming international break.
