Monroe, Washington - June 6th 2009 - In front of many local Japan faithful fans, that traveled out to support the final game of the season for the Japan Tornados, the Explosion played graceful hosts to a 184-147 win. This game was about many of the new Explosion players getting time and working through the offense to get ready for the upcoming playoffs. As a send off for Richard Ford, who will leave the Explosion as the all time Explosion rebound leader with 180 rebounds in a season, the team helped him in setting a new Explosion game record with 19 rebounds in his final game while scoring 25 points.

The night also had the IBL leading scorer Devon Greene, who only played 31 minutes, scored 50 points to lead all scorers. The Explosion new center Ike Ohanson in his second game for the Explosion, did well yet again, will be taking on more of a low post presence with Ford leaving. "We are getting more depth on the team and players are stepping up" said head coach Chris Weakley. The Explosion lead by as many as 47 points in the game but the stat that was the most amazing was that Japan scored 81 points from three point range for the night. Anthony Slater had his normal night with 16 assist, but returning from what was thought a career ending injury Troy Gwynn scored 16 points.

The Explosion are currently 7-6 on the season and they look forward to playing BC Titans next weekend in British Columbia. The young talented team have seven games left in the season and tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
