Lincoln Stars News Release

Lincoln, NE - The Stars have named forward Devlin McCabe and defenseman Justin Lee assistant captains for the remainder of the 2018-19 season. The pair will join captain Josiah Slavin and assistant captain Tristan Ashbrook as lettered leaders of the team.

Now in his second season with the Stars, McCabe has played in 89 career games, recording 21 goals and 47 points for Lincoln in that span. This year, the Minnesota-Duluth commitment has been a steadying presence in the Stars top six, scoring five goals and 12 points in 25 games played.

Justin Lee was acquired by the Stars in a trade with Cedar Rapids made back in July. The University of Denver commitment has been a dynamic presence along the blue line in his first season. Through 25 games, Lee is tied for the team's lead in defensive scoring with three goals and nine assists.

"After the injury to Zach Dubinsky and with Phil Lapointe being traded, we were looking for guys on our roster that represent our message well," said Stars head coach Cody Chupp. "Devlin and Justin are two guys that have done things right on a daily basis throughout the season. We don't expect too much change from them. Through their hard work and their consistent effort, they're a pair who have proven themselves worthy to wear letters"

The Stars return to action on Friday, December 28th with a road game against Tri-City at 7:35 pm CST.
