Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays are proud to announce the official beginning of a season ticket drive for the 2006 season and beyond. The announcement occurred last night at the "Big Announcement at the Big Event" at Burnham Brook in Battle Creek prior to the longest game in World Series history.
The Devil Rays announced a goal of 1,800 full season tickets, or about 500 accounts, are needed to demonstrate the commitment required for the team's parent company, Ivy Walls Management, LLC, to build a new stadium in Southwest Michigan.
A vocal crowd of more than four hundred people, including season-ticket holders, fans and sponsors, packed the Lew Boyd room of Burnham Brook to watch the 14-inning Game 3 of the 2005 World Series on three big-screen televisions. All in attendance enjoyed live music from Streetsmart along with inflatable amusements, food, beverages, prizes and of course, the Big Announcement.
"We are fully committed to making this happen and are seeking out people and businesses in the community to join our team." said Devil Rays General Manager Martie Cordaro. "We look forward to a great 2006 season and many more to come in Southwest Michigan."
Full season tickets and stadium boxes are now available by calling 269-660-2287 or visiting the team's front office at 189 Bridge Street behind C. O. Brown Stadium. As the holidays near, the Devil Rays Clubhouse Store in Lakeview Square Mall is a great place to purchase Major League or Minor League merchandise for the fan in your family. Season Ticket information is also available at the Clubhouse Store as well.
