Detroit Shock News Release
Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Detroit Shock announced the launch of their exclusive on-line (www.detroitshock.com) EnShocklopedia - a detailed, encyclopedic account of the players, personalities and other proper nouns behind Detroit's nine seasons of WNBA competition...and two championship titles. To access the main page visit: http://www.wnba.com/shock/history/EnShocklopedia_FrontPage.html.
Featuring nearly 400 entries in its initial posting, this detailed account of the Detroit Shock is far from complete and is designed to be a living document, to be added to and altered over the years.
The EnShocklopedia adds to an already significant amount of historical information available in the HERstory section of www.DetroitShock.com. Launched in 2006, this chronological celebration of Shock history includes season-by-season recaps, complete schedules and results with links to game recaps and box scores, regular season rosters and other miscellaneous notes about one of the most successful franchises in the WNBA.
Updates from the Detroit Shock communications staff will be posted to the EnShocklopedia throughout the year. Fans and media members may also suggest entries of their own through links at the bottom of each web page.
Experience the two-time WNBA Champion Detroit Shock presented by AirMaster Heating and Air Conditioning, a premiere LENNOX dealer by calling 248.377.0100 or by logging on to www.DetroitShock.com. The Shock's home opener vs. the Sacramento Monarchs is scheduled for Saturday, May 19 (Bill Laimbeer's birthday) at 3:30 p.m. The 2006 WNBA Finals re-match will be televised nationally on ABC.
