Detroit Shock Host Dribble 'Til You Drop Contest

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - On Friday, May 20 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Pistons Hoop City Grille in Southfield, the Detroit Shock will tip-off the 2005 WNBA season by finding out who is their most committed fan with the Shock Dribble 'Til You Drop Contest.

Twenty (20) randomly selected contestants will have to dribble a WNBA basketball, and the person who dribbles the longest, without stopping, will be the winner. Contestants will be allowed two-minute breaks per hour and must keep the ball dribbling during the other 58 minutes.

The last person standing will win two, front row, VIP season tickets for the 2005 Shock season. All contestants will receive a Shock prize pack and two lower level tickets to Opening Day on May 21 at 1:00 p.m.

To register, fans over the age of 13 can go to www.detroitshock.com beginning Monday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m.. Fans 13 and under or those without computer access, can register by mail. Entries will be accepted through Thursday, May 19 at 5:00 p.m. Entries should be submitted, postmarked before Thursday, with name, address, phone number and age to:

The Detroit Shock open their regular season at The Palace on Saturday, May 21, 2005 against the Connecticut Sun. Opening Day tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Shock baseball hat courtesy of Farmer Jack.
