Detroit Fury Hold Open Auditions for Radio Color Commentator

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League (AFL) announced today that they are holding open auditions for fans in the metro-Detroit area to become the Fury's radio color commentator for one game. The winner will join Matt Dery for the Saturday, April 10 broadcast and call the game between the Fury and intrastate rival, the Grand Rapids Rampage.

All applicants must send a one-minute cassette tape of themselves calling a football game to the Fury public relations staff:

Entries must be received by Friday, March 26 in order to be considered for the contest.

A panel of judges will select the top five finalists who will compete on Thursday, April 1, during halftime of the Fury home game against the Georgia Force. Fans in attendance will select the winner.

Schedule of events:
March 1-26: Tape Submission Deadline
March 29-30: Finalist Named
April 1: Five Finalists Compete at Fury Game
April 10: Broadcast Fury vs. Rampage Game

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and maintain an amateur broadcast status. The contest winner must be available the week of April 4-10 to participate in meetings with the broadcasting and coaching staffs. The winner will also receive an authentic Fury home jersey.

The Fury (2-1) hit the road on March 4th, when they visit the Colorado Crush (3-1) at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Fans can catch all the action live on 1310 AM The "X", and all the other Arena Football action this Sunday on NBC. Tickets can be purchased by calling (248) 377-0100 or visiting www.detroitfury.com.
