Columbus Destroyers News Release

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League will host a prospective player evaluation tryout on Wednesday, November 10 at the Nationwide Arena. The day will consist of two workout sessions, with the first scheduled from 9-11 a.m. and the second from 2-4 p.m.

Each workout is open to the media. Head Coach/General Manager Chris Spielman and players will be available immediately following each session.

"Invitational camps are a great way to take a close look at players who we feel have the ability to play in the Arena Football League," said Spielman. "We want to put each player in an arena setting, evaluate their Arena football skills and give each player an opportunity to display what they are capable of doing."

Over 60 players from across the United States have been invited to participate in the workouts, including four players out of The Ohio State University. Among the former Buckeyes set to attend are defensive specialists Butler By'not'e and Michael Burden, wide receiver/defensive back Tony Locke and fullback/linebacker Fred Pagac.

Wednesday's camp will be the second invitational workout for the Destroyers this offseason. The club also held a prospective player tryout in August, which proved to be a success as seven players who attended the first camp have now been signed to free agent contracts with the Destroyers.

Auditions for the BOMBSHELLS, the Destroyers' official dance team are currently underway and will continue with preliminary auditions on Tuesday, November 9 at Nationwide Arena.
