Destroyers Meet Rush In Scrimmage

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers will get its first test of the season when they welcome the Chicago Rush to town for a controlled scrimmage Saturday at 9 a.m. The two teams are practicing together on Friday and will meet on Huntington Field at Nationwide Arena on Saturday. The scrimmage is open to the media only. Players will be available following the conclusion of the scrimmage, which is expected to end around 11 a.m.

WHERE: Huntington Field at Nationwide Arena

WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 14, 9 a.m.

WHO: The Columbus Destroyers and Chicago Rush players, coaches and team personnel.

PARKING: Parking is available in the loading dock area of Nationwide Arena. From Nationwide Blvd., take John H. McConnell Blvd. and follow straight to security entrance. The Destroyers kick off the 2006 season at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29 when the club hosts the Grand Rapids Rampage on Huntington Field at Nationwide Arena.

Entering its fourth season in 2006, NBC will continue to broadcast the non-stop excitement of Arena Football each Sunday throughout the season. Check your local listings for the game in your area beginning on Sunday, Jan. 29 on the AFL on NBC.
