Despite out-shooting Cyclones, Bombers fal

Dayton, OH-The Dayton Bombers were defeated by the Cincinnati Cyclones 3-2 on Saturday in front of 3,487 fans at the EJ Nutter Center.
The Bombers and the Cyclones met up for the third time in the battle for the Cricket Cup, this was the first game in Dayton. For a majority of the opening period, it was all Bombers early, out shooting the Cyclones 13-4 in the first and 10-1 within the first 12 minutes of the period. However, Cincinnati capitalized on the power play and took a 1-0 lead at the 16:38 mark of the first.
Less than two minutes later Justin Maiser tied the game on his third of the season. Maiser banged home a rebound left by Cyclones starter Dov Grumet-Morris. Ryan Reid picked up his first point as a Bomber, along with Tim Konsorada adding his second assist of the season as well. The game remained tied after 20 minutes of play.
It didn't take the Bombers long to break the tie early in the second period. Rookie Trevor Frischmon was given a gift by Grumet-Morris and standing in the Cyclones crease he tapped home his second of the season to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead at the 1:47 mark of the second. Continuous pressure and sound defensive play allowed the Bombers to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room.
The Bombers entered the game 5-0 when leading after two periods of play this season and it looked like based on their play in the first two periods of this one they would make it 6-0, but Cincinnati had other ideas. Jason Deitsch tied the game at 2-2 on the power play at the 7:51 mark of the third period. Then with less than two minutes to play, the Cyclones finished off a two-on-two break to slide in the game winner past Bombers starter Adam Berkhoel, final score Cyclones 3, Bombers 2.
The Bombers have out shot every opponent in all of their 11 games. They are now 5-5-1 on the season and will play their first out of division opponent of the season this Friday, December 1, as the defending American Conference Champion Gwinnett Gladiators come to town at 7:00 p.m.
