Desperados to Hold Open Tryouts

After a successful inaugural season, the Dallas Desperados are kicking off preparations for the 2003 season by holding their second annual open tryout. The tryout is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25 at Texas Stadium and is open to anybody who thinks they have what it takes to play professional football.
Last year, over 1,000 hopefuls participated in the club's inaugural open tryout, with the Desperados signing three players from the group of participants. Corey Kelly, Kerry Taylor and Bobby Washington impressed coaches enough during the tryouts to earn the opportunity to participate in the team's first training camp.
This year's tryouts will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Oct. 25 with registration for offensive linemen, defensive linemen, fullbacks and linebackers. Registration for quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs will begin at 11:00 a.m., while kickers begin registering at 3:00 p.m.
All players will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and standing broad jump. Selected players will be invited to participate in an elite workout, where players will be evaluated in drills specific to the game of Arena Football.
To pre-register for the tryouts, log on to the club's official website at www.dallasdesperados.com, click the open tryouts button and download the registration form. The pre-registration fee is $45 and is payable by check or money order. Registration fee the day of the event is $55 and is payable by cash or money order only.
All registered participants will receive an official Dallas Desperados Camp t-shirt and a Dallas Cowboys ticket voucher redeemable for one ticket to either the Seattle Seahawks game on Oct. 27 or the Jacksonville Jaguars game on Nov. 24. Participants will also receive the option to purchase up to three (3) additional tickets at $25 each (subject to availability).
All participants will need to provide their own workout attire: shoes, shorts and accessories. All workouts will take place on Texas Stadium's Realgrass⢠Synthetic Playing Surface. The Dallas Desperados are not responsible for travel or lodging expenses.
