Dallas Desperados News Release
The Dallas Desperados will hold their only mini-camp of the offseason Dec. 5 through Dec. 7. Practices on Thursday and Friday will take place at Texas Stadium, with Saturday's practices taking place at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility in Valley Ranch.
This will be the first complete gathering of Desperados players since their season ended with a 60-47 playoff loss to Chicago on Aug. 5. It will also mark the Dallas debut of new offensive coordinator Steve Thonn.
The Desperados have made several personnel changes during the offseason, including trading QB Andy Kelly to the Detroit Fury. In his place will step Jim Kubiak, who served as Kelly's backup last spring. OS Dialleo Burks should return after missing the last half of the season with a fractured wrist suffered against Indiana (6/8), and he will team with WR/LB Andy McCullough, who led the team with 82 catches for 836 yards and 24 touchdowns to earn selection to the AFL All-Rookie team. Also selected to the All-Rookie team and returning for another season are OL/DL Shante Carver and DS Kareem Larrimore.
Dallas re-signed OS Shannon Culver and FB/LB Patrick Scott for another year while adding OL/DL R-Kal Truluck (from Detroit), WR/DB Shawndel Tucker (from Detroit), WR/DB DeAuntae Brown (from Toronto) and WR/DB Luke Leverson (from Toronto), to name a few.
