Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados announce today that an agreement has been reached to return the team to the American Airlines Center for the 2004 season.

The return to the American Airlines Center takes the Desperados back to the home location of their inaugural season. The team played the 2002 season at the AAC, compiling a 3-4 record. The club also played a first round playoff game against Georgia this past spring at the AAC, falling to the Force 49-45.

The club moved to Reunion Arena for the 2003 season after the Arena Football League moved the start of the season from April to February, creating conflicts with the NBA's Mavericks and NHL's Stars at the American Airlines Center. The new agreement between the club and arena has worked out scenarios to avoid scheduling conflicts during the 2004 season.

"The American Airlines Center is a first class facility, and we're happy to join the Mavericks and Stars as tenets in a building that houses all winners," says Desperados Head Coach Joe Avezzano. "We really enjoyed playing our inaugural season at the American Airlines Center and look forward to bringing exciting football back to the building while creating one of the best home field advantages in the Arena Football League."

The American Airlines Center is one of the country's newest, most technologically advanced facilities. With a seating capacity of 15,919 for Desperados games, the arena features 2,000 Platinum Club seats and 142 luxury suites. The multi-level building provides excellent sightlines for everybody in attendance, whether sitting in the lower bowl, the Platinum Level or in the upper bowl.

The Desperados and the rest of the Arena Football league kick off the 2004 season the weekend of Feb. 6-8. The AFL will be releasing the 2004 schedule in the coming weeks, at which point fans will be able to begin purchasing season ticket packages for the eight Desperados home games.
