LAS VEGAS, NV - Desert Dogs goalie Landon Kells made 30 saves while allowing just two goals in the second half as Las Vegas took down the Calgary Roughnecks 11-9 for their third straight win Friday night.

The victory marks the fourth win for the Desert Dogs in the past five games, as the team moves to 4-5 on the season. The Dogs squashed a four-game win streak from the Roughnecks as Calgary drops to 7-3.

Jack Hannah led the way offensively with five points on two goals and three assists. Zack Greer (2G, 2A), Rob Hellyer (1G, 3A) and Charlie Bertrand (4A) all chipped in with four points.

After the Dogs blasted the visitors with a 6-1 run in the first quarter, the Roughnecks responded with six goals in the 2Q to tie the game at seven at the break.

After a 14-goal opening half, the game turned into a defensive battle in the second. Vegas retook the lead with two third quarter scores from Sam Firth and John Wagner to make it 9-7.

Calgary would manage to get back within one, but goals from John Phillips and Rob Hellyer early in the fourth created separation for the hosts to hang on for a two-goal win.

Las Vegas will be back on the road next week for the historic Stadium Showdown outdoor game against the San Diego Seals on March 4. Faceoff at Snapdragon Stadium is slated for 1:30 p.m.
