
Denver's Kieran Millan Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (October 22, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Denver Cutthroats goaltender Kieran Millan has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending October 20, 2013.

The Edmonton native won both of his starts this past weekend stopping 72 of the 75 shots he faced (.960 save percentage). On Friday, Millan turned away 36 of 37 shots in his team's 4-1 win. The second-year pro followed that up with 36 saves on Saturday night in his team's 3-2 shootout win. The shootout was where Millan shined stopping 16 of 18 shooters (the 18 rounds were the most in a CHL game since the CHL/WPHL merger more than a decade ago).
Millan, a fifth round draft selection of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, posted a 15-15-4 record last season with the Cutthroats with a 2.91 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. He won the weekly award twice last season.
